Guido Guerri dall'Oro Gallone
- Count Guerri dall'Oro
- 11th Prince of Tricase
- 8th Prince of Moliterno
- Physicist engineer, PhD
Son of Count Aldo Guerri dall'Oro (Padua 1913 – Colli sul Velino 2004) and of Donna Simonetta della Posta of the Dukes of Civitella Alfedena (Rapallo 1916 – Rome 1986).
Heir to his father's title, he reunites in his own name the three Houses from which he descends. Author of the founding genealogical research of this site.
Path
Guido carries out his studies in Italy until the age of seventeen, when he follows the family to São Paulo, in Brazil, where his parents had recently moved. There he obtains the baccalauréat at the French Lycée.
He then settles in Lausanne, where he studies at the Federal Polytechnic (EPFL), first as a student of engineering, then as assistant professor. He remains there eleven years. It is in Lausanne that he meets Jeanine Schneider (b. Mulhouse, 31 October 1945), daughter of Luis Schneider (d. Mulhouse, 13 May 1964) and of Marthe Lidy (d. Mulhouse, 25 June 1996).
Guido and Jeanine marry in Bordighera on 29 December 1971, then move to Caracas, Venezuela, where Guido teaches physics at the Simón Bolívar University for seven years. There the two elder daughters are born, Eleonora (Caracas, 17 April 1973) and Emanuela (Caracas, 2 September 1974). A year in Florence and one in Rome follow.
In 1981 the family settles definitively in Angers, where Guido becomes director of a research laboratory at Thomson. In 1985 the third child is born there, Simon, future 12th Prince of Tricase. He retires in 1995.
The following year, out of pure passion, Guido enrols at the Faculty of History where he brilliantly obtains a second master’s. The historical discipline will become the intellectual framework of the following twenty years.
The genealogical research
For over twenty years after retirement, Guido devotes himself to genealogical research full time, seven days a week. He takes up the work of his father Aldo, digitises it, verifies it in the Italian and European archives, and extends it — reconstructing an ascending tree of about one hundred thousand persons. In parallel, with the same professional methodological rigour, he carries out the complete genealogy of the Schneider family (Mulhouse), the family of his wife Jeanine.
This site principeditricase.com is the publication, in the public domain, of a portion of this work, curated by his son Simon.
Guido passes away in Angers, on 14 December 2019, at the age of seventy-eight.
