House of Guerri dall'Oro · Comital grant 1967
Aldo Guerri dall'Oro
- Count Guerri dall'Oro (mpr.)
Son of Pietro Quinto Guerri dall'Oro (1874–1944), Colonel of the Carabinieri, and of Elena Bisi (1886–1960).
Founder of the modern House of Guerri dall'Oro Gallone. His genealogical work constitutes the documentary basis of this site.
The noble title of 1967
By the noble measure of King Umberto II of 19 November 1967, the title of Count (mpr.) — motu proprio, that is, with authorisation for hereditary succession — was granted to Aldo Guerri dall’Oro, and to his wife the title of Countess. The Royal Letters Patent are the legal foundation of the House of Guerri dall’Oro as represented today.
Marriage and descent
On 3 July 1939, in Rome, Aldo married Donna Simonetta della Posta of the Dukes of Civitella Alfedena (Rapallo, 23 June 1916 — Rome, 14 December 1986), only daughter of Augusto III della Posta, Duke of Civitella Alfedena, and of Maria Bianca Gallone, last Princess of Tricase and of Moliterno.
From their union were born four children:
- Ludovica (Rome, 21 June 1940 — Labro, 23 October 2023), married in São Paulo on 20 October 1962 to Riccardo of the Marchesi Nobili Vitelleschi (Reims 1934 — Labro 2011);
- Guido (Rome, 21 September 1941 — Angers, 14 December 2019), 11th Prince of Tricase and 8th Prince of Moliterno;
- Emanuela (Rome, 17 July 1943);
- Stefano (Rome, 23 February 1946 — Bordighera, 2 July 2005).
Towards the end of the 1950s the family moved to São Paulo, in Brazil, where the children continued their studies. Aldo and Simonetta would later return to Italy.
By the Decree of the Minister of Grace and Justice of 21 January 1999, all the descendants take the surname Guerri dall’Oro Gallone di Tricase e di Moliterno.
The genealogical work
Aldo Guerri dall’Oro devoted decades to archival research on the Houses of Guerri, dall’Oro, Gallone and della Posta, reconstructing the lineage that would then converge in the present-day family. The documentation gathered by Aldo — later taken up, digitised and expanded by his son Guido — constitutes the foundation of this site.
