Personal data and audience measurement.
This site is a family genealogical archive. It sells nothing, creates no accounts and does not profile its visitors.
Data controller: Simon Guerri dall'Oro Gallone, who maintains the site. Contact details are on the Contact page.
What we collect.
The site sets no cookies and stores nothing in the visitor's browser: no technical cookie, no advertising cookie, no persistent identifier. No consent banner is therefore required, because there is nothing to consent to.
Until August 2026 the site used Google Analytics, which set cookies from the first visit. It has been removed.
To know which pages are read, the site uses Vercel Web Analytics, served from our own domain. The page viewed, the country, the device type and the referring page are collected in aggregate form. No IP address is retained and no individual profile is built: two visits by the same person cannot be linked.
Typefaces are hosted on our own servers: no request goes to Google Fonts. Two external services remain, loaded only on the pages that use them:
the map of the fiefs loads its map tiles and the Leaflet library from a third-party provider, and some place pages embed a Google Maps map or a YouTube video in no-cookie mode. On opening those pages the provider receives the visitor's IP address, as with any image loaded from another domain.
A genealogical site necessarily names people. For those who have died, dates and places are published in full: these are historical data, often already held in public archives.
For living people, the site publishes at most the year of birth, without day or place. Minors and third parties outside the House are not named individually. No living person's date of birth is placed in the structured data offered to search engines.
If you write to the address given on the Contact page, your message and address are kept for as long as it takes to reply and, where the report concerns a genealogical correction, as a record of the source. They are passed to no one and feed no mailing list.
Anyone appearing in these pages may request access, rectification, restriction or erasure of the data concerning them, by writing to the address on the Contact page. An erasure request from a living person is carried out without discussion.
You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority: in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
