Guido carries out his studies in Italy until the age of seventeen, when he follows the family to São Paulo, in Brazil, where he obtains the baccalauréat at the French Lycée. He then settles in Lausanne, where he studies at the Federal Polytechnic (EPFL), first as a student of engineering, then as assistant professor, for eleven years. It is in Lausanne that he meets Jeanine Schneider (b. 1945), daughter of Luis Schneider (d. Mulhouse, 13 May 1964) and of Marthe Lidy (d. Mulhouse, 25 June 1996).

Guido and Jeanine marry in Bordighera on 29 December 1971 and move to Caracas, Venezuela, where Guido teaches physics at the Simón Bolívar University for seven years. In those years the two elder daughters are born, Eleonora (b. 1973) and Emanuela (b. 1974). A year in Florence and one in Rome follow.

In 1981 the family settles definitively in Angers, where Guido becomes director of a research laboratory at Thomson. In 1985 the third child is born there, Simon, future 12th Prince of Tricase. He retires in 1995 and the following year, out of pure passion, enrols at the Faculty of History, where he obtains a second master's: the historical discipline will become the intellectual framework of the following twenty years.

In 1965, at Bordighera, the painter Roman Bilinski portrays him in oil: the canvas, signed and dated, appears that same year in the artist's exhibition at Sanremo, at Villa Ormond. By the same painter are two sanguine drawings, likewise made at Bordighera — Guido in 1965, with a dedication, and his brother Stefano in 1973 — as well as the portrait of his father Aldo.

For over twenty years after retirement, Guido devotes himself to genealogical research full time, seven days a week. He takes up the work of his father Aldo, digitises it, verifies it in the Italian and European archives, and extends it — reconstructing an ascending tree of about one hundred thousand persons. In parallel, with the same professional methodological rigour, he carries out the complete genealogy of the Schneider family (Mulhouse), that of his wife Jeanine.

Those who knew him remember a boundless curiosity — everything interested him, and he could marvel at anything — and his habit of telling all manner of stories to his children, his grandchildren and his friends. The eulogy read at Angers speaks of an extraordinary strength of character, of the courage he showed every day, of an intense presence and a joy in living, and of friends the world over.

Guido's genealogical work today counts over 20,519 individuals recorded, 19,706 identified by name and 4,146 families, from the 2nd century to 2011, with 759 sovereigns in the direct ancestry: a legacy that takes up and digitises the manual work of his father Aldo, tracing it back to the great dynasties of Europe. From the marriage of Guido and Jeanine were born three children: Eleonora, b. 1973, m. 2002 to Emmanuel B.; Emanuela, b. 1974; and Simon, b. in Angers on 26 December 1985, 12th Prince of Tricase and 9th Prince of Moliterno (current).
