Francesco Alessandro Gallone.
4th Prince of Tricase, 1694 – 1753.
Designated heir from infancy, he takes charge of the administration of the patrimony after his father's long principate and partly restores its fortunes. He dies without children: the title passes to his half-brother Giuseppe Domenico.
Biography.
Francesco Alessandro is born in 1694, first son of Stefano III Gallone and of Giovanna Teresa Colmenero, after two sisters born in 1691 and 1693. As early as 1695, when his father cedes to his wife the fiefs of Supersano, Torricella and Floresta, he is secured the rights of designated heir.
His mother dies in 1703; two years later his father remarries Lucrezia di Capua, from whom his half-brother Giuseppe Domenico is born in 1706.
In 1726 he marries Fulvia de Gaeta, of the Marquesses of Montepagano. On his father's death, in 1733, he becomes 4th Prince of Tricase.
He inherits an economic situation compromised by the expenses of Neapolitan life and by the poor administration of the preceding years. Francesco Alessandro "partly restores the situation by taking firm control of the administration of the patrimony".
No children are born of the marriage with Fulvia de Gaeta. On his death, in 1753, the Principality passes for the first time in the collateral line: he is succeeded by his half-brother Giuseppe Domenico, who takes possession of Caprarica del Capo that same year.
